Leave Nairobi and drive to The Taita Hills wildlife sanctuary which is situated three quarters of the way between Nairobi and the coast. Halfway down we stop to have lunch at the Tsavo Inn. After 5 lunch we continue driving down to The Taita Hills Wildlife sanctuary, on arrival we proceed on a game drive. Here because of its abundance of water, large herds of elephant and other plains game migrate to this area. We then drive on to Salt Lick lodge which is an all night game viewing lodge and remarkable for its unusual architecture. A series of thatched towers sit high on stilts and overlook water holes. Take tea on the roof while you watch animals below and enjoy the spectacular scenery. In clear weather you have a fine view of Africa,s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. Dinner at the lodge followed by the excitement of a late night game vigil as animals come to the floodlit waterholes.
